Configuring AVEVA Instrumentation as Client with AVEVA P&ID as Data Source

The following procedure describes how to configure AVEVA™ Instrumentation to point to AVEVA™ Integration Service (Service) for obtaining data from AVEVA™ P&ID. This section assumes that you have already installed AVEVA™ Instrumentation, AVEVA™ P&ID and AVEVA™ Integration Service.
For information on how to configure AVEVA™ P&ID as the data source for the Service using Integration Settings Editor, see AVEVA Instrumentation.
Note: This section describes the procedure for AVEVA™ Instrumentation 12.1 SP5. The steps and the screen shots may vary slightly for the other versions of AVEVA™ Instrumentation.
To configure AVEVA™ Instrumentation as client:

Open Instrumentation Engineer.

On the Select an AVEVA Instrumentation Project dialog box, select the desired project whose data needs to be viewed in AVEVA™ Instrumentation.

On the Project tab, click Setup, and then click AVEVA Integration Service and Import Configuration.

On the Confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

On the Service Import Configuration Settings dialog box, in the Actions area, click the Service list.

On the Configure Integration Service Location dialog box, for the Service Installed On box, enter the name of the computer on which AVEVA™ Integration Service is installed.

Click Save and then click Test Service to test the connection. If the Service Ok message is displayed, click Exit.

On the Service Import Configuration Settings dialog box, for the Select Source list, select AVEVA P&ID and then click Login.

On the Select an AVEVA P&ID Project dialog box, select the project, enter the password, and then click Connect.

On the Step 1 of 5: Choose mode of operation page, select Create new configuration, and then click Next.

On the Step 2 of 5: Source Element Type page, type a configuration name, group name, and then select the values for the Object Type Mapping, Name Attribute and Unique Attribute lists. The values represent the element types for AVEVA™ P&ID. Click Next.

On the Step 3 of 5: Destination Element Type page, select the object type for AVEVA™ Instrumentation in the Object Type list, select the Allow Insertion check box, and then click Next.

On the Step 4 of 5: Define Source Filter(s) page, click Add Filter to add a condition to filter the data received from AVEVA™ P&ID. Click Next.

On the Step 5 of 5: Define Attribute Mapping(s) page, click Add Mapping to add a mapping to the data.
Note: You can select the Select All Mappings check box based on your need.

Click Finish. A message is displayed that the configuration is saved successfully.

Click OK.

In AVEVA™ Instrumentation Engineer, on the Manage tab, select AVEVA P&ID for the Products list, and then click Connect.

On the Select an AVEVA P&ID Project dialog box, select the project, provide the credentials, and then click Connect.

Select the group name from the Groups list, and then click Import Data. The AVEVA™ P&ID data can now be viewed in AVEVA™ Instrumentation.
