You can use the Configure Units feature to convert the source units to match the destination units so that the data retrieved from the data source is readily consumed by the client product. Using the feature, you can ensure seamless flow of information between the data source and client.
The following points must be noted while configuring units.
-
The option to configure the units is available only if the data source is a Dabacon-based product.
-
The option is available only if you choose to use the project units in the data source by selecting the UseProjectUnits check box in Integration Settings Editor.
-
Only the default project units are considered for configuring. Temporary settings in the data source, such as the current user settings, are not considered for identifying the project units.
To configure units:
-
Start Integration Settings Editor.
-
Select the required Dabacon product from the Select Product list. The list of available configurations for the product is displayed in the grid.
-
Select the required configuration from the data grid and make sure that the UseProjectUnits check box is selected for the configuration.
Note: If you added a new configuration using AVEVA™ Integration Service 1.5.1 or later, the UseProjectUnits check box is selected by default. However, if you are upgrading from version 1.5 or earlier, the check box is cleared by default for existing configurations.
-
Click Configure Units.
-
On the Configure Units dialog box, from the Project Units area, select the dimension for which you want to configure the units. The available units for the dimension are listed in the Available Units area.

-
Select the required unit from the Available Units area and click the set unit (>) button. The dimension and the unit selected are added to the Configured Units area.
Note: If you want to remove a configured unit from the Configured Units area, select the corresponding row and click the unset unit(s) (<) button. If you want to remove more than one unit from the Configured Units area, press CTRL+click to make multiple selections, and then click the unset unit(s) button.
-
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all the dimensions for which you want to configure units.
-
After you have configured the required units, click OK.
-
On Integration Settings Editor, click Save.
Important: The configured units are not saved if you do not click Save on Integration Settings Editor.
After configuring the units, you can test the conversion of units by viewing the data through Integration Client. For more information on how to view data, see View Data.
