Configuring AVEVA Electrical as Client with AVEVA Diagrams as Data Source

The following procedure describes how to configure AVEVA™ Electrical to point to AVEVA™ Integration Service (Service) for obtaining data from AVEVA™ Diagrams. This section assumes that you have already installed AVEVA™ Electrical, AVEVA™ Diagrams and AVEVA™ Integration Service.
For information on how to configure AVEVA™ Diagrams as the data source for the Service using Integration Settings Editor, see AVEVA Diagrams.
Note: This section describes the procedure for AVEVA™ Electrical Engineer 12.1 SP5. The steps and the screen shots may vary slightly for the other versions of AVEVA™ Electrical Engineer.
To configure AVEVA™ Electrical as client:

Open Electrical Engineer.

From the Select an AVEVA Electrical Project dialog box, click the required project, and then click Select.

On the Project tab, click Setup, select AVEVA Integration Service, and then Import Configuration.

On the Service Import Configuration Settings dialog box, select Service for the list in the Actions area.

On the Configure Integration Service Location dialog box, for the Service Installed On box, enter the computer name on which AVEVA™ Integration Service is installed, and then click Save.

Click Test Service to verify if the connection to the service has been established.

Click Exit after the Service Ok message is displayed.

On the Service Import Configuration Settings dialog box, for the Select Source list, select AVEVA Diagrams and then click Login.

On the Select an AVEVA Diagrams Project dialog box, select the project, provide the credentials, and then click Connect.

On the Step 1 of 5: Choose mode of operation page, select Create new configuration, and then click Next.

On the Step 2 of 5: Source Element Type page, type a configuration name, and then select the values for the Group, Object Type Mapping, Name Attribute and Unique Attribute lists. The values represent the element types for AVEVA™ Diagrams. Click Next.

On the Step 3 of 5: Destination Element Type page, select the object type for AVEVA™ Electrical in the Object Type list, select the Allow Insertion check box, and then click Next.

On the Step 4 of 5: Define Source Filter(s) page, click Add Filter to add a condition to filter the data received from AVEVA™ Diagrams. Click Next.

On the Step 5 of 5: Define Attribute Mapping(s) page, click Add Mapping to add a mapping to the data.
Note: You can select the Select All Mappings check box based on your need.

Click Finish. A message is displayed that the configuration is saved successfully.

Click OK.

On the Manage tab of AVEVA™ Electrical Engineer, select AVEVA Diagrams for the Products list, and the click Connect.

On the Select An AVEVA Diagrams Project dialog box, select the project, enter the password and then click Connect.

Select the group name from the Groups list, and then click Import Data. The AVEVA™ Diagrams data can now be viewed in AVEVA™ Electrical.
