Upgrading AVEVA Integration Service

You can upgrade AVEVA™ Integration Service from an earlier version to a later version by running the AVEVAIntegrationService<releasenumber>.msi file of the later version. For detailed instructions, see Installing AVEVA Integration Service.

Note: Because of certain changes, some of the data sources created using 2.0 or earlier versions of the Service may need to be recreated after upgrading the Service to version 2.1. Therefore, before proceeding with the upgrade, refer to the sections pertaining to your data sources in the AVEVA Integration Service Setup Guide to understand if the data sources that need to be recreated.

If you are upgrading from version 2.0 or earlier, it is recommended that you first upgrade to version 2.3.1.2, and then to version 2.3.2. If you upgrade directly to version 2.3.2, some of the configurations may not work as expected.

If you are upgrading the Service to the 2.3.2 version, you must make sure that your computer meets the system requirements and the required features of the Internet Information Services (IIS) are enabled as described in System Requirements. After upgrading and starting the Service, some data source names may need to be changed. This is because, starting version 2.3.2, the data source names are required to be unique for the Service to operate. As a result, you may need to recreate your configurations. If you are upgrading the Service to version 3.1.2 from a version earlier than version 2.0, see Before You Begin for the tasks that must be completed before the upgrade. Also, you must run the Migration Tool to migrate the old data sources to version 3.0. If you are upgrading the Service to version 3.1 from version 3.0, the upgrade happens automatically.

If you are upgrading the Service to version 3.1.2 from version 3.1, the upgrade happens automatically.
