If you want to run AIS APIs or allow AIS APIs to be executed by a non-admin user, these steps must be followed:
Definitions:
-
User A - Non-admin service user (aisserver.test2@aveva.com)
-
User B - Admin User
During installation:
-
Add User A to PCS Users group via PCS User Group screen to enable necessary permissions.
-
Restart the machine to apply group policy changes and ensure proper user group membership is applied.
During Configuration
-
Configure all AIS application pools to run under User A service account and AIS services are started.
-
Launch all products using Run as different user with User A credentials and ensure the authentication token is generated.
-
Verify that User A has read/write access to projects location and datasources are added in Remote Admin.
-
For Unified Engineering integration, add User A to Remote Users group and log into the machine with User A credentials.
-
Install Unified Engineering under User A context and generate token from Credential Manager after launching the application.
-
Switch back to User B login and remove User A from Remote Users group.
-
Add Unified Engineering datasource in Remote Admin and verify data retrieval via Data API Client for all added datasources.
-
Verify data for the added datasources in Data API Client.
-
Confirm that read access has been granted to User A, except for the Logs, CustomTempPath, and Logs folders. These three folders will have write access.
