This section explains how to work with AVEVA Integration Service on CONNECT.

Work with the Data source list

Before creating or managing data sources, familiarise yourself with the information displayed on the Data Sources List page. To access it, select Data Sources from the navigation panel.

Understand your Data sources

The Data Sources List displays all configured data sources along with key details about each. The following table describes each column:

Column

Description

Name

The name assigned to the Data source.

Product

The AVEVA product associated with the data source, such as AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA Electrical, or AVEVA P&ID. The product name Generic is available for registering a data channel or application as a data source for PubSub use.

Module Name

The specific module name within the associated product.

Project

The project for which the data source was created.

Device ID

A unique identifier for the local AIS Server installation. Each local AIS Server instance is assigned a Device ID that logically identifies it.

OnlyPubSub

Indicates whether the data source supports live data pull. Values are Yes or No.

OnlyPubSub behaviour explained:

  • Yes - The Data Source was created via the CONNECT portal. It supports PubSub only and does not support live data pull.

  • No - The Data Source was created via the AIS Local Server Web UI and has an associated Device ID. It supports both PubSub and live data pull (on-demand query).

A Generic Data Source is always OnlyPubSub = Yes, regardless of whether it was created from the AIS Local Server Web UI. Generic Data Sources are intended solely for PubSub data exchange and do not support live data pull.

Navigation

The AVEVA Integration Service (AIS) web application provides a navigation panel with options to manage your integration configuration. This section describes the available navigation options and how to work with Data Sources.

Accessing the AIS web application

To open the AIS web application, launch a web browser and navigate to the AIS URL (https://eu.ais.connect.aveva.com/web).
