Locks

Dynamic configuration The availability of this feature depends on the functionality being enabled in the dynamic configuration interface in OSM Administration.

A system lock or personal lock indicates that the physical point is locked.

You can add one system lock to an isolation point. This is the primary lock. There might be a system lock in place for the duration of a job, and during that time some individual workers might apply personal locks, in addition to the system lock. A personal lock tends to be more temporary and applied for smaller, individual reasons.

Guidelines

  • Only one system lock can be added to an isolation point.

  • Any number of additional personal locks can be added an isolation point.

  • Each lock number on an isolation point must be unique. A personal lock cannot have the same number as the system lock.

  • If a system or personal lock has been deleted, then the same lock number can be used again.

Add system or personal lock to an isolation point

  1. Tap the Locks icon on the action bar to open a new page where you can add or delete locks for the current point. If you haven't created a lock yet, this page will appear empty.

  2. On the Locks page, tap Add to create a system or personal lock.

  3. Select the Type of lock as a System lock or a Personal lock.

  4. Enter a lock number. No two locks on the same isolation point can have the same number.

  5. (Optional) Type a name into the On behalf of field.

The On behalf of field is a free text field. There is no possibility to select a person from a list, and there is no validation.

  6. Tap Apply.

Delete a lock

  1. Tap the Locks icon on the action bar to open a new page where you can delete locks for the current point.

  2. On the Locks page, tap the Delete icon next to a system or personal lock.

  3. Tap Delete to confirm.
