Checklist to set up a Communication Driver

If you are setting up a Communication Driver for the first time, perform these tasks in the order listed.

1. Review the items described in Get started.

2. Learn how to navigate the OI Server Manager in the OCMC. See Navigate the OI Server Manager.

3. Add and configure objects in the Communication Driver configuration. See Configure your Communication Driver.

4. Configure the global parameters. See Configure global parameters.

5. Add one or more device groups. See Manage device groups.

6. Add device items. See Manage device items.

7. Activate the Communication Driver. See Activate/Deactivate the Communication Driver.

8. Access data from the client, including specifying device item references. See Access the data in your Communication Driver.

9. Troubleshoot any problems. See Troubleshoot.
