Set the item reference

You must know which memory locations you need and the memory location attributes before entering item references in the Communication Driver.

Set an item reference

1. In the OI Server Manager, navigate to the device.

   1. Expand Operations Integration Server Manager node, expand the node group, and then expand Local.

   2. Expand the Communication Driver, expand Configuration, and then expand the channel, port, or bridge.

2. Select the device. The device's parameters are displayed in the details pane on the right.

3. In the details pane, select the Device Items tab.

4. Right-click the Item Reference field to be set, and then select Rename.

5. Type the item reference, and then press Enter.

6. Select Save.

   The item reference saved.
