Configure the TLS timeout for secure SuiteLink connections

Configure the TLS timeout for secure SuiteLink connections

  • Last UpdatedSep 11, 2025

The default TLS handshake timeout for encrypted SuiteLink connections is 20 seconds. However, you can customize the TLS timeout by configuring the TLS_Timeout entry in the Registry Editor.

Configure the TLS timeout interval in the Registry Editor:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.

  2. Navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Wonderware\SuiteLink\TLS.

    2023R2SP1P03-SuiteLinkTLSTimeout

If the SuiteLink and TLS folders do not exist, you can manually create the folders by adding a new Key for each.

  3. Modify the value data of the TLS_Timeout value to change the default TLS handshake timeout.

If the TLS_Timeout value does not exist, you can manually create the entry by first creating a new DWORD (32-bit) Value, and then modifying the value data accordingly.
