SQLData object authentication modes

You can configure the SQLData object to use one of three authentication methods:

• Windows Integrated Security (uses the credentials of the running process):

  While the SQLData object is being configured in the IDE, the credentials of the current IDE user are used for access to the database. When the object is accessed at runtime, the ArchestrA Application Engine process’s credentials are used for access to the SQL database

• Windows Account (requires a valid Windows domain name, username and password):

  The credentials of the specified Windows user are used for access to the SQL database for configuration and runtime.

• SQL Server User Authentication (requires a valid SQL Server username and password):

  The credentials of the specified SQL database user are used for access to the SQL database for configuration and runtime.

The authentication method applies to both the configuration and runtime environment. The SQL Server must be configured to support the selected authentication method.
