Create User Credentials

  • Last UpdatedOct 24, 2022
  • 1 minute read

You must create user credentials if your map providers require a specific user account to access their data. When a user logs into a ViewApp, the user can see those map layers in which credentials have been assigned. A layer is hidden from the user if a credential has not been assigned.

For more information about setting user credentials, see Configuring Security in the Application Server Help.

Important: Some map providers do not require user credentials to access their data. In that case, the prerequisite task to create user credentials can be ignored.

To create user credentials

  1. Open the System Platform IDE.

  2. Select Galaxy from the ribbon, then select Configure, then Security to show the Security area.

  3. Select the Authentication Mode tab and set the Authentication Mode to OS User Based.

  4. Select the Credentials tab.

  5. Select the plus button to add a credential.

  8. Edit the fields of the Details area to assign a credential username and password that will be used to authenticate the user to the map server.

  9. Click OK to save your security configuration changes.
