The WinPlatform object is a key member of the core set of AutomationObjects within the ArchestrA system infrastructure. The WinPlatform object can be further classified as a System Object and as a Platform Object.
The WinPlatform object provides the following main functions:
-
Monitors various statistics related to the computer to which it is deployed, such as CPU, memory, and disk usage. Some of these statistics are calculated and published for client consumption. Also, many of the statistics can be alarmed and historized.
-
Starts and stops AppEngine objects (based on the startup type), which are deployed to the WinPlatform object.
-
Monitors the running state of AppEngine objects that are deployed to the platform. You can configure the WinPlatform object to restart an AppEngine object if it detects that the engine has failed.
-
Designates the computer to which it has been deployed as a member of a Galaxy. A computer can only be a member of a single Galaxy.
For general information on objects, including relationships, deployment, and alarm distribution, see the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) documentation.
