Content includes graphics (symbols), OMI layouts, and external content objects. External content objects are designated by their URI, and are used to link to documents, videos, applications, and other types of content that are not part of the galaxy.

Use the Content pane of the Attributes tab to:

  • Add, modify, duplicate or delete local (object-owned) graphics.

  • Add, duplicate or delete links to graphics, layouts, and/or external content objects in the Graphic Toolbox.

  • View linked graphics, layouts, or external content objects.

  • View inherited graphics, layouts, or external content objects.

You must have the derived template or instance checked out in order to add, modify, duplicate or delete local or linked content. If the object is not checked out, you can only view content as read-only.

You can view content inherited from parent templates. You cannot modify or delete inherited content. This means that in order to edit inherited content, you must check out the derived template that owns or links to the content. You can, however, duplicate inherited content or inherited links to content.

You can only add content to derived templates and object instances. You cannot add content to a base template.

To edit a graphic, layout, or external content object, select the graphic or external content item you want to edit from the Content pane, and then press the Edit button. The applicable editor for the item will open.

  • If a graphic is selected, pressing edit opens the Graphics Editor.

  • If a layout is selected, pressing edit opens the Layout Editor.

  • If an external content object is selected, pressing edit opens the External Content Editor.

Changing content that is linked rather than object-owned will change the content in the Graphic Toolbox. Thus, the content will change Galaxy-wide for all objects that link to it.
