AVEVA BI Gateway Server Licensing

This release of BI Gateway enforces licensing through the AVEVA Enterprise Licensing system for the BI Gateway Server add-in.

AVEVA BI Gateway Dashboard Server and Analytics Client Licensing (Tableau Components)

The BI Gateway Analytics Client versions shipped with BI Gateway are allowed to access data only from the BI Gateway datastore and data sources used in the BI Gateway model (Drill-down scenario, for example). Using the Analytics Client outside of those boundaries is a violation of the license agreement.

The BI Gateway software enforces licensing for the Analytics Client through license keys provided by AVEVA on your license certificate. When you first start the Analytics Client, a software activation window prompts you to enter the license key.

The BI Gateway Dashboard Server is downloadable from AVEVA Knowledge and Support Center. For more information on the installation process, refer to the Deploy section of the Tableau Help. You can activate the Dashboard Server License through the Tableau Service Manager (TSM) portal.

NOTE:
- If you already have permanent activation codes for Tableau software, you can use the same activation codes with Tableau OEM as long as you have a valid Customer First subscription for BI Gateway.
- Concurrent Licensing is supported on Intelligence 2014 R3 and later versions, and Tableau 2018.1 and later versions.
