About the Analytics Client Data Source Generator

The BI Gateway Analytics Client enables you to analyze data contained in the BI Gateway datastore, and publish dashboards to the Dashboard Server. The Analytics Client needs information about the location of the data store, the measures, and their relationships to dimensions. This information is available in a Tableau Data Source (.tds) file. The Analytics Client Data Source Generator creates a .tds file for each measure table in the BI Gateway datastore. You can then analyze data in the BI Gateway datastore by opening the appropriate .tds file in the BI Gateway Analytics Client.

The Analytics Client Data Source Generator generates the .tds files automatically every hour. You can also manually trigger the generation of the .tds files using the Analytics Client Data Source Generator.

The Analytics Client Data Source Generator is installed as a component of the Analytics Client feature in the BI Gateway installation program.
