Configuring the AVEVA Insight Connection

The AVEVA Insight data adapter allows BI Gateway data source to use an AVEVA Insight as a source to which you can map the dimensions and measures fields in the BI Gateway model.
Configuring the AVEVA Insight data adapter helps you interact with the Azure functions available within the AVEVA Insight source. By default, the AVEVA Insight data adapter points to the Azure function available in the “development” environment. You can use a custom Azure function by updating URL available inside the <AzureFunctionUrl> </AzureFunctionUrl> tag within the OnlineInsight.DataAdapter.config file. The OnlineInsight.DataAdapter.config file is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Wonderware\Intelligence\Bin.
To configure the AVEVA Insight connection

In the Data Adapter Type box, select AVEVA Insight.

In the Data Source Configuration section, do the following:

In the Data Source time zone list, the (UTC) Coordinated Universal Time option is by default selected. You cannot edit the time zone for the AVEVA Insight data adapter.

In the URL box, specify the AVEVA Insight source URL. The default URL is “https://online.wonderware.com/apis/Historian/v2”. You can update the default URL by editing the URL inside the <OnlineInsightUrl> </OnlineInsightUrl> tag in the OnlineInsight.DataAdapter.config file.

In the Key box, specify the authentication key for the registered AVEVA Insight URL.

Click Connect. A confirmation message appears.

Click Done and then click Save.
NOTE: The AVEVA Insight adapter supports only custom queries. You can add or modify custom queries using the Custom Query Expression editor. For more information, see Using Custom Queries to Create Custom Source Data Items.
