Next steps with AVEVA Connect

  • Register with AVEVA Connect

If you are a first-time user of CONNECT, you must first register yourself with CONNECT for an AVEVA user ID. An AVEVA user ID is required before you can proceed with the other steps. The registration is a one-time process.

Note: If your organization has opted for Corporate Sign-in or has delegated the authentication of users to a third-party, the registration process is not applicable.

    To register with CONNECT:

    1. Select Sign in on the invitation email, the Register dialog box is displayed.

Note: You can access the CONNECT sign-in page directly by following the https://connect.aveva.com/#/ URL and selecting the Sign in option. Then select Register to register.

    2. In the Email box, type your official email address.

    3. In the Password and Confirm password boxes, type a password.

    4. In the First name and Last name boxes, provide your first and last names.

    5. Select Next to go to the Company information page.

    6. In the Company name box, type your company name.

    7. In the Local office address 1 and Local office address 2 boxes, provide your local office address.

Note: Local office address 2 is optional.

    8. In the Postal code box, type the postal code of your local office.

    9. From the Country list, select your country.

    10. From the State/Region list, select your region.

    11. Select the Terms and Conditions link to read the terms and conditions.

    12. Read the terms and conditions carefully and then select I Agree to accept the terms and conditions.

    13. Select Register. Your request is submitted and an email with a verification link is sent to your official email address.

    14. Select the link to verify your email address. An CONNECT Sign in page is displayed.

    15. Type your password and select Sign in.

Your password must be at least eight characters long and must contain at least three of the following four types of characters: a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number, and a special character. Note that the user account is locked after 10 failed login attempts from the same IP address. You do not need to provide a password if you are using your organization's single sign on.

    16. If your AVEVA user ID is approved by AVEVA's corporate compliance check, you are signed in to the account you are assigned to.

Note: If your AVEVA user ID is pending approval, contact your account manager or your local AVEVA representative.

The data you have provided at the time of registering is saved as your profile information which can be updated from time to time. For details on how to update your profile, see Update Profile Information.

  • Sign in to AVEVA Connect

You can sign in to CONNECT using your email address and password with which you have registered, using your organization’s single sign on, using a sign-in link, or through a connection code.

Note: Signing in through a connection code is applicable to users who are authenticated using a federated connection. If you are a first-time user of CONNECT, you must first register yourself with CONNECT before you can sign in. For information on how to register with CONNECT, see Register with AVEVA Connect.

If you attempt a sign-in ten times consecutively with a wrong password from the same location (IP address), then your user ID is blocked. If this happens, contact AVEVA Global Customer Support to unblock your user ID.

You can sign in to only one account at a time. You must sign out from one account before signing in to another account.

    To sign in to CONNECT:

    1. Access the CONNECT sign in page.

If you are accessing the CONNECT sign-in page directly by following the https://connect.aveva.com/#/ URL, select the Sign in option on the Home page.

      (OR)

If you are signing in immediately after registering, select Sign in.

    2. Enter your registered email address and password.

Note: If you are signing in for the first time after the introduction of AVEVA's Corporate compliance policies, you are prompted to provide your company information before you can sign in. You can sign in only after your AVEVA user ID has been screened for the compliance policies. For details about the company information, see Register with AVEVA Connect.

If your organization has opted for single sign on, then you can sign in to your CONNECT account without entering a password. Note that the user account is locked after 10 failed login attempts from the same IP address.

    3. After a successful sign in, the list of accounts that you are a member of is displayed.

Note: If you are a user with multiple user identities and do not find the required account in the list, you can try by switching your user identity. Select signing in with a different user ID and try signing in with another CONNECT user ID. This option is available only if the user ID you are using to sign in is a member of more than one accounts and if your organization has configured the Switch User functionality. For information on how to configure the Switch User functionality, contact your local AVEVA representative.

    4. Select the account you want to sign in to. You are signed in to that account.

Note: If you are a member of only one account, you are signed into that account automatically.

    1. Update Profile Information

You can update the following details of your profile:

      • First name

      • Last name

      • Company name

      • Local office addresses 1 and 2

      • Postal code

      • Country

      • State

Note: Though your username is part of your profile, it cannot be updated. Further, the profile information cannot be updated if you are a federated user (that is, if your organization has opted for Corporate Sign-in or has delegated the authentication of users to a third-party).

      To update your profile information:

      1. Sign in to CONNECT.

      2. On any page in CONNECT, select the profile icon.

      3. On the My AVEVA Profile page, edit the fields according to your requirement, and select Save.

A message is displayed that the profile has been updated successfully. All updated profiles are checked for compliance with AVEVA's corporate policies. If your profile is still compliant, you can continue to work with CONNECT. Else, a message that your profile is pending approval is displayed and you will be signed out after 60 seconds. In such cases, contact your AVEVA representative for assistance.

Note: If you are a user with multiple user identities, the option Sign in with a different user ID is available if your current user profile is pending approval. Select the option to sign in using a different user ID.

      1. Sign out from AVEVA Connect

Some CONNECT application environments are independent of each other. To switch between application environments, you must sign out before attempting to sign into another application.

Also, when you have completed your session within CONNECT, you must sign out.

        To sign out from CONNECT:

        • Select the Profile icon on the top right corner and select Sign out. You are signed out of CONNECT.

Signing out from CONNECT signs you out from the applications you have launched from CONNECT.

      Other AVEVA Connect sign-in options:

      • Sign in Using a Sign-in Link

As an Account Administrator, you can share a sign-in link with your users.

To view the sign-in link for your account:

        1. From the main menu, select Settings.

        2. On the Account Settings page, select the Sign in Link card.

The Sign in Link page displays the sign in link for your account. You can copy the link and share it with your users.

Note: When users sign in using the sign-in link, they are not presented with the list of accounts to choose from while signing in. They are directly signed in to the account from which the link was generated.

        1. Sign in Using a Connection Code

Note: Signing in through a connection code is applicable to users who are authenticated using a federated connection.

A connection code enables third-party users to access specific accounts associated with an Identity Provider. Any accounts that are not intended for the third-party users are hidden.

To sign in using a connection code:

          1. Access the CONNECT sign in page.

If you are accessing the CONNECT sign-in page directly by following the https://connect.aveva.com/#/ URL, select the Sign in option on the Home page to sign in.

            (OR)

          2. If you are signing in immediately after registering, select Sign in to sign in.

Note: You can also sign in using a direct sign-in link that is available in the email invitation.

          3. Select Have a connection code option.

          4. In the Connection code box, enter the connection code.

Note: The connection code is provided by AVEVA. If you do not know the connection code, contact your Account Administrator.

After validating the connection code, you are signed in and the list of accounts that you are a member of is displayed.

          5. Select the account you want to sign in to. You are signed in to that account.

Note: If you are a member to only one account, you are signed into that account automatically.

          1. Sign in Using Corporate Single Sign-On

Some CONNECT accounts are configured to delegate authentication using a corporate directory or identity provider, which enables authentication and authorization to CONNECT applications using the corporate user identity. If your organization has opted for this, you can use Single Sign-On using the user account from the corporate domain.

If Single Sign-On is enabled, you only need to provide your email address when signing in to CONNECT.

Note: You may be prompted to sign into your organization’s sign-in page or adhere to other authentication mechanisms used by your organization.
