Select source data items for a dimension

You can select data items from any of the configured data sources to later map to your dimension fields.
The source data items shown in the Select source data items dialog box are retrieved from the saved schema. You can use the Connect option in the data source editor (Connection tab) to refresh the data source schema.
Select source data items for a dimension

Open the AVEVA BI Gateway Model Builder.

Under the Dimensions column, click the dimension to which you want to add a dimension field.

In the Dimension editor, click the Edit
icon next to Fields. The Fields editor appears.

Click the Data Source Item Picker
icon. The Data Source Item Picker dialog box appears.

The Data Source items pane shows the available schema of the data sources.

Click the Expand icon to expand the data source and view the source data items within the data source.
NOTE: You can use the Find box to search a source data item. The search behaves as a 'Contain' query.

Select a source data item from which you want to expose the fields to add the data source item. Deselect a source data item to move an item back to the Data Source items pane.
The names in a data source table should not contain the special character, semicolon (;). The names that contain special characters like semicolon (;) and (#) do not appear in data source items pane.
The right pane of the dialog box shows the fields of the source data item that you select in the Data Source items pane. The first source (from the top of the list) providing a value for the field will be used in the resulting dimension table.

Slide to enable the Preview source data option to view sample data from the data source.

Click Ok.
Selected data source items become available for mapping to the dimension fields.
