About context link
A context link provides a context for time-slicing. Time-slices obtained from time defining dimensions can have an associated context.
You can use context link to optimize the outcome data, resulting from the data processing.
Context link enables you to:
-
Retain only relevant time-slices
-
Maintain the datastore to an optimized size
-
Retrieve context-specific data from data sources
This approach requires you to identify or define a context dimension (usually Asset dimension), which acts as a “pillar” for computing the measure calculation in context.
The Measure execution considers all context related to the dimension used as context link and ensures that the execution is performed in an optimized and accurate way.
Note: We recommend that you enable context link.
