Configure the AVEVA Insight connection

You can provide connection information for the AVEVA Insight external data source system.

The AVEVA Insight data adapter allows AVEVA BI Gateway data source to use AVEVA Insight as a source to which you can map the dimensions and measures fields in the AVEVA BI Gateway model.

Configuring the AVEVA Insight data adapter helps you interact with the Azure functions available within the AVEVA Insight source. By default, the AVEVA Insight data adapter points to the Azure function available in the production environment.

Configure the AVEVA Insight connection

1. In the Data Adapter Type list, select AVEVA Insight.

   The Data Source Configuration section appears as follows.

   

2. In the Data Source Configuration section, do the following:

   1. In the Data Source time zone list, the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) option is by default selected. You cannot edit the time zone for the AVEVA Insight data adapter.

   2. In the URL text box, specify the AVEVA Insight source URL. The default URL is “https://online.wonderware.com/apis/Historian/v2”.

   3. In the Key box, specify the authentication key for the registered AVEVA Insight URL.

3. Click Connect. A confirmation message appears.

4. Click Done and then click Save.

   Note: The AVEVA Insight adapter supports only custom queries. You can add or modify custom queries using the Custom Query Expression editor. For more information, see Use custom queries.
