AVEVA™ BI Gateway

Configure event log settings

  • Last UpdatedFeb 12, 2024

You can configure the event log settings such as Auto Purge and Log Types.

  • The Auto Purge settings consist of the purge interval and the retention period for event logs. The purge interval is the interval at which AVEVA BI Gateway checks the Diagnostics.EventLogger table to identify any data that needs to be purged. Any data that is older than the retention period gets purged.

  • The Log Types setting allows you to configure the type of log messages that must be displayed in the Logs.

Configure event log settings

  1. From the AVEVA BI Gateway Model Builder Home Page, click Settings from the main menu.

    The Settings dialog box appears.

    EventLogSettings

  2. Under Auto Purge, perform the following.

    1. In the Purge Interval (minutes) box, type the interval at which the Diagnostics.EventLogger table must identify any data that needs to be purged. The default value is 1440 minutes.

    2. In the Retention period (days) box, type the number of days for which you want to retain the Event Logs. The default value is 7 days.

  3. Under Log Types, select the required check boxes:

    • Info: (Default) Logs all the information messages.

    • Error: (Default) Logs all the error messages.

    • Warning: (Default) Logs all the warnings.

    • Trace: Logs all the traces.

    • Custom: Logs all the custom messages. For more information about custom log message types, see Log flags.

Note: Trace and Custom log types are database intensive and may impact overall system performance. Therefore, we recommend that you use these log types judiciously.

  4. Click Save & Close.

A message appears indicating that the event log settings are successfully configured.
