Add a dimension

You can add a dimension to the AVEVA BI Gateway Model.

Add a dimension

1. Open the AVEVA BI Gateway Model Builder.

2. Click the Add icon in the Floating Action Buttons menu and then click the Dimension icon. A new dimension is added in the AVEVA BI Gateway model with a default name and the Dimension editor appears in the right pane.

   

3. In the General & Fields section, do the following:

   1. In the Name box, type a new name for the dimension. The dimension name must be unique and can have a maximum length of 32 characters.

   2. In the Description box, type a description for the dimension. The description can contain a maximum of 1024 characters.

4. In the Refresh Rate area, configure how often the dimension is refreshed with data.

   1. In the Interval list, select the time interval for the refresh and then click a time unit in the Units list. The default refresh rate is One (1) day.

      The Interval field units' value must comply with the following conventions:

      • If the Refresh Rate Unit type is Day, then the number must be between 0 and 366.

      • If the Refresh Rate Unit type is Hour, then the number must be between 0 and 8784.

      • If the Refresh Rate Unit type is Minute, then the number must be between 0 and 527040.

   2. In the Offset (minutes) list, select an offset time in minutes. The offset time is used to delay the scheduled data refresh. You can provide a maximum offset time of 59 minutes. The default offset time is zero minutes.

5. In the Fields section, click the Edit icon to add, edit, or delete dimension fields. For more information, refer to Manage dimension fields.

6. Click Save.
