AVEVA XR Engage Template 5.1.0 and later versions support three main approaches to load 3D model files: using XR Studio, AVEVA Application Service (AAS), and local folders. Each method offers different workflows and configurations for importing and managing 3D models from the XR Engage environment.

  1. Loading the model using XR Studio. Load the model using the XR Studio importer.

  2. Loading the model with AAS. Like in earlier versions of AVEVA Engage, users can connect to AVEVA™ Application Service and load GCD Creator created cache files from AVEVA™ E3D Design projects.

  3. Loading the model with local folder. Load the 3D model files from a local folder. This is a sideloading of models from local folder because there is a conversion of 3D model file to take place, so it may take some time depending upon the size of the model to convert and load into XR Engage Template. It's also possible to copy the GCD cache files and Visual query folder. Only Excel data source visual queries are supported.

You can copy different 3D models files such as GCD cache files that are created using the GCD Creator: such as RVM, ZGL, FBX, and LSC file types. Different model types will have different hierarchical representations; therefore, the selection will be varied.
