AVEVA™ XR Engage Template

Loading the model with AAS

This method connects to the AVEVA Application Service to load GCD cache files from AVEVA E3D Design projects. Users add the AVEVA Application Server with its machine and port details, access project models, and can manage recent or bookmarked models for loading.

This workflow is similar to how it was in earlier versions of AVEVA Engage.

Use AVEVA™ Application Service (AAS) to load model

  1. Create an XR Engage Template project using XR Studio.

  2. Click Run on the XR Studio toolbar.

  3. Click on Add Server button to add an existing AVEVA Application service.

  4. In the Server name field, enter the machine name where AVEVA Application Service is configured and running.

  5. Enter the port number where AVEVA Application service is running. By default, AVEVA Application service will be running on port 8733, if this has not been changed in the AVEVA Application Service configuration.

  6. Click Add to add the AVEVA Application Server. If AVEVA Application Server is running, it will add the server and show up in the Servers Section.

  7. Click the added server to show E3D projects and GCD cache files created using GCD Creator.

    • The Recent section automatically lists the recent GCD cache files.

    • The Bookmarked section lists user-bookmarked GCD cache files. Clicking the bookmark icon next to a model adds it to the bookmarked list.

  8. Clicking on any of the GCD model tiles will load the model.
