AVEVA™ XR Engage Template

Loading the model using XR Studio

  • Last UpdatedOct 29, 2025
  • 2 minute read

In this approach, users create a project in XR Studio, import model files through the graphic_context.xml, and configure settings in cfg_cadviewer.xml.

XR Studio supports camera views for initial model perspectives, but does not support some new formats. Models loaded this way use specified camera nodes for views.

Note: New importer formats such as popmesh are not yet supported in XR Engage Template.

Use XR Studio to load the model

  1. Create an XR Engage Template project using XR Studio.

  2. In the XR Studio Project Explorer, click on graphic_context.xml file to import a model file.

  3. Select Import to import the model file.

  4. Add the required configuration setting in the cfg_cadviewer.xml file.

Configure initial view for XR Studio imported model

  1. Use the Camera node in XR Studio to add initial camera views.

  2. In the cfg_cadviewer.xml file, specify the CameraName value with the name of the Camera node containing the views.

Note: Models loaded with other workflows use full model bounding box calculated view to fit the model in the screen.
