Description |
|---|---|

Point to Point |
Enables you to perform a point-to-point measure. |
|
Path |
Enables you to perform a multi-point measure along a path, instead of a straight line. Note: Path measure is disabled for now. It will be implemented in future |
|
Units |
Enables you to select the measurement unit to display; for example: meters (m), centimeters (cm), inches (in), feet (ft). The distance will be calculated based on type of units you select. |
|
Lock |
The Lock button enables you to apply constraints on the axes. You can switch between no lock, Y lock, and XZ lock.

Point to Point measure
The Point to Point measure tool is used to measure the distance between two scene object points.
When the tool is activated, a picking line is shown exiting from the hand device and a distance indicator at its endpoint.
To perform a point to point measure
-
Identify the starting moving the hand device.
-
Trigger the Action button. The distance to camera indication disappears and the point to point distance appears. When you select the first point, a sphere is placed at the start of measure line and the measure line appears in red color while drawing.
-
Move the hand device to identify the end point. The point to point distance indicator follows the point picked by the picking line. This helps to correctly identify the end point. Another line is shown connecting the start point and the current picked position.
-
Trigger the Action button to select the end point. The point to point distance indicator moves to the center of the line. The distance to camera tool appears again. When you select the end point, the second sphere is placed at the end of the measure line.
-
When the measure line is confirmed, the spheres will be hidden and the line will turn to blue color.
Note The line is confirmed either by exiting the measure tool, or starting to draw a new measure line.

Guidelines about point-to-point measurements
When making a point-to-point measurement, both the start point and end point must be in valid locations.
It is not valid to:
-
Click on an existing measured line segment.
-
Place either start point or end point in the sky.
When using Normal Vector Measure Tool
Normal Vector Measure mode constrains the drawing of the measurement to the Y axis.
It is valid when drawing a vertical line with Normal Vector Measure mode enabled to choose an end point in the sky; however, not the starting point.
