Loading the model with local folder

This workflow can be used to load the model files from local folder. Users need to configure a root folder for the 3D model where the 3D model sub-folders are located.
In this approach, users configure the folder containing subfolders with 3D model files. Paths can be set in cfg_cadviewer.xml or XR Engage app preferences. This approach supports multiple subfolders, each representing a project model, and allows copying visual queries related to the models. Model files are loaded by selecting the desired subfolder and model.
Use local folder to load model
-
Create an XR Engage Template project using XR Studio.
-
You will need to configure the model’s root (main) folder and each folder should have model files. There cannot be any special characters in folder names or model file names.
There are two ways to configure the path:
-
Can be configured in XR Studio cfg_cadviewer.xml
-
Can be configured in XR Engage App settings - Preferences section.

-
-
Select the Add Folder button on the Projects Location screen to show the Folder Explorer so you can select the sub-folder where project model files are located.

-
Selecting a folder will add it to the Folders section. You can add multiple sub-folders in the root folder—with the condition of one subfolder for one project model.

Note: We recommend using one sub-folder for each project folder. Also, if you have Visual queries for the model, these can be copied to model sub-folders.
-
Select a sub-folder to list all the model files located in that sub-folder.

-
Selecting a model will load the model.
