Single Grip for Zoom and Rotation
If you activate the Advanced mode, the grip button on your controller is enabled to use for Zoom and Rotation.
This procedure describes using one hand.
Advanced mode
The Advanced mode enables you to scale and rotate your point of view, to have a better overview on large files, and teleport faster between two far points. Once active, you can still teleport or fly. Advanced mode just enables the usability of the grip buttons.
To activate Advanced mode
-
Open the VR menu and select the Advanced button.
-
To activate advanced mode on left controller - press left controller grip button and release.
-
To activate advanced mode on right controller - press right controller grip button and release.
When the Advanced mode is activated, the button remains selected until it is pressed again to deactivate this mode. By default, the Advanced mode is deactivated.

Grip button
Both Vive and Oculus have the grip button, so the button combination is the same.
-
If you press the grip button and drag the controller towards/away from your body, this will zoom in and zoom out.
-
If you keep the grip button pressed and rotate the controller, you can rotate your view based on where you have pointed the stick.

While pressing the grip button, the selection stick changes color. It means that now you are pointing on the center of rotation/zoom of your point of view.
From that moment you can zoom and rotate based on the point you are aimed at.
When you press and keep pressed the grip button, the line color is purple.

The line color will change to orange.

When you release the grip button, the colored line disappears.
