You can elect to inhibit the alarm and event information that is shown to the Controller. There are a few alarm and event situations that inhibiting the alarm and event logging will effect:

Normal alarms and events are generated when a meter was previously in an error and alarm state. By default, when the conditions for successful functioning are met, a Normal Alarm and Normal Event are recorded to inform the Controller that things have returned to normal. If you select the Normal Alarm and Normal Log checkboxes on the Inhibits tab, then notifications for things returning to normal are not presented to the Controller.

Off-Normal alarms and events can occur in many situations. For example, an issue reading the input data required to perform periodic host calculations or calculating the meter's values would generate an Off-Normal Alarm and Event. If you select the Off-Normal Alarm and Off-Normal Log checkboxes on the Inhibits tab, then notifications that things are abnormal are not presented to the Controller.
