Host-calculated meters can be configured to locally calculate data values for the meters on the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA server from the input that is being gathered from other AVEVA Enterprise SCADA data points. The calculations that are being performed for the meter depend on the type of meter in use as well as which of the available calculations have been configured in AVEVA Measurement Advisor. The calculated values as well as the input values are sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor every hour at the top of the hour.
Manual host-calculated meters can be configured to send the data on a daily basis, rather than on an hourly basis.
The following details meter types, what each meter type can calculate in addition to a description of what is sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor.

Information sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Orifice Host Calculated |
Hourly |
|
The information sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor is the average or integrated value (depending on the type of data) as calculated over the previous hour. |
|
Pulse Host Calculated |
Hourly |
|
The information sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor is the average or integrated value (depending on the type of data) as calculated over the previous hour. |
|
Linepack Host Calculated |
Hourly |
|
The information sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor is the current value at the top of the hour. However, if the linepack calculation fails, there will be no information sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor. |

A spooling delay can be specified for manual host-calculated meters, giving you the opportunity to set a waiting period before the information will be sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor. The spooling delay can be set for each meter individually or it can be set for all of the Manual Host Calculated meters as a command line parameter using the monitorMeterHostCalculated process. After the spooling delay has expired, the system will perform some additional checks on the input data and will only send the data if the configured input data points are fresh and have been polled (the Last Krunch Time) since the top of your selected time period. Input points that are not telemetered or calculated or are in Manual Override are only checked if they are fresh. The information that is sent to AVEVA Measurement Advisor will be the current value at the time the data is sent. |
