Isolate the edges in an image

Use an Isolate Edges block to reduce an image to binary (black and white) edges.
To isolate the edges in an image

On the Block Definitions toolbar, select Pre-Processing.
The Pre-Processing list expands.

Drag an Isolate Edges block onto the Canvas.

Connect the block to other blocks on the Canvas as needed.

Select the Isolate Edges block on the Canvas.

Right-click the block, and then select Properties.

The Properties side sheet appears on the right side of the screen.

In the Edge Finder area, select one of the following:

Smart Edges Finder – Find all edges in the images.

Quick Edges Finder – Select which edges you want to find.

Optional: If you selected Quick Edges Finder, clear the Vertical Edges Finder checkbox or the Horizontal Edges Finder checkbox to find only the horizontal or vertical edges, respectively.

Select Apply Changes.
The preview image for the block updates on both the Properties side sheet and the Canvas.
