Prerequisites for a Basler camera

You must configure a Basler camera make ready to use before you can configure a connection to AVEVA Vision AI Assistant. A Basler camera is set up and configured using the Basler pylon Camera Software Suite.

GigE cameras are powered using PoE. Ensure you can have the necessary infrastructure items like cables or switches before proceeding. There are different ways to power a GigE camera. Implement a method best suited for your environment.

The computer running AVEVA Vision AI Assistant should be on the same network and be able to access the camera. Ensure that the camera is not on a security list watch list and can be accessed via the network.

We recommend configuring the camera with a Static IP. If the camera IP is dynamic, then you must update the camera setting everytime the IP changes.
