Deploy and run ViewApp

Deployment instantiates objects in a runtime environment which are required to run a ViewApp. Deployment includes installing the necessary software on a target computer to support objects. You must deploy your environment before attempting to run a ViewApp.

To deploy and run the ViewApp containing the app

1. Open the System Platform IDE.

2. Select the Deployment tab to show a set of system and user objects that are created to support a default ViewApp that comes with System Platform.

3. Drag the ViewApp derived template that includes the configured app to the Deployment view and drop it.

   System Platform creates an instance of the ViewApp derived template and places it beneath the ViewEngine object.

   The yellow icon next to each object in the Deployment view indicates the object is undeployed.

4. On the Galaxy menu, select Configure, and then select Security.

   The Configure Security dialog appears.

5. Select OS User based security for the Authentication Mode.

6. Under the Users tab, add the authorized user.

7. Select OK.

8. Right-click the Platform object to show a shortcut menu with a list of options.

9. Select Deploy from the shortcut menu, and then select OK from the Deploy dialog.

   The Deploy dialog shows status messages while objects are being deployed. A Deploy complete message appears after all objects have been deployed. The yellow icons next to all objects should be hidden, indicating the objects are deployed.

10. Close the Deploy dialog, and then minimize the System Platform IDE to your Microsoft Windows taskbar.

11. Select the AVEVA OMI Application Manager icon on your Microsoft Windows desktop.

12. Select LAUNCH to start the ViewApp.

    After several seconds, the ViewApp containing the app should appear in its own window.
