Add a camera

You can add a camera of the following types:

• Network – Provide a URL to an network connected camera.

• Webcam – Connect to the web camera installed on the local computer.

• Dataset – Upload images and videos stored on the local computer.

• Basler – Connect to a Basler camera by providing the URL or IP of the camera.

• Programmatic – Connect to an external monitoring source using REST APIs.

The Camera Name box allows a maximum of 32 alphanumeric characters. The special characters allowed are +_-

You can add a camera by providing the URL to an IP connected camera.

To add a camera

1. Select + New.

2. In the Camera Name box, enter a name for the new camera.

3. From the Camera Type list, select the camera type.

4. Configure the following additional information based on the camera type selection:

   • Network – Enter the URL in the URL box.

   • Webcam – In the Webcam list, select the connected web camera.

   • Dataset – Previously created datasets display with a corresponding thumbnail. Select the appropriate datasets from the list. You can add a dataset using the Datasets settings page.

   • Basler – Enter the URL or IP address in the URL or IP box. The Basler camera should be configured prior to adding a camera. For more information, see Prerequisites for a Basler camera.

   • Programmatic – No other boxes are configured.

5. Select Save.
