Adopting the standards-based AVEVA Unified Engineering Default Configuration brings benefits beyond the adoption of good practices and standards. It also facilitates the shift to a data-centric approach and digital twin development across the following levels:

Corporate Level

  • Continually add to the AVEVA Default Configuration to support fast startup with a solid basis.

  • Apply a common basis that facilitates collaboration based on a common data dictionary.

  • Comply to standards that give a common industry perspective.

  • Make corporate-level data implementation or integration available.

  • Provide a common data dictionary across the industry.

Project Asset Level

  • Deliver against a standards body specification. For example, American Petroleum Institute (API) datasheets.

  • Make a fast start-up available based on AVEVA's Default Configuration. For example, symbols and templates.

  • Facilitate a data-centric progression to the digital twin. For example, components that are used downstream.

  • Provide assignment of attribute ownership. For example, disciplines.

  • Lower the bar for a rapid startup and customer-specific requirements extension while remaining compliant. For example, a customer extension of the hierarchy.

  • Cover the complete design lifecycle from conceptual design (simulation) to detailed design (API datasheets).

  • Provide a holistic view covering multiple disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Electrical).

Business System Level

  • Provide multiple start-up configurations to support a progressive implementation strategy. For example, a submodel based on an initial starting scope (Electrical and Instrumentation or Process and Mechanical).

  • Reduce the project implementation time. For example, through pre-mapped libraries aligned with vocabularies and deliverables.
