Alarm assembly approach

The Instrumentation – Off-Line palette includes a symbol called Field - Discrete w/ 4 Alarms.

This symbol is based on the instrumentation function class and defines a point in the process that requires variable monitoring. When placed in a P&ID drawing, it automatically creates four alarms associated with the instrumentation function.

To use this set of alarms, the instrumentation users (ENG.INST) must reclassify the instrumentation function to the appropriate process variable, in the same way as other instrumentation assemblies. Users can also adjust the number of alarm points to meet process requirements.
