The design process unfolds progressively, consistently layering details and consolidating elements leading to a detailed design. The design process evolves by building on previous stages and phases, continuously expanding by addressing aspects of the design from various disciplines. This process serves to refine and enrich each subsequent phase.
The multi-disciplinary nature of the process requires the use and adaptation of information from one discipline by another. To manage this, workflows are employed to create context specific deliverables that fundamentally facilitate the communication of one team's efforts in a way that allows others to apply it efficiently.
