Delta update

Projects may also require a delta update from the latest AVEVA Master Library Project (MLP) version.
This additional step applies changes introduced in the newer MLP release (such as new classes, attributes, Lists of Values, and modifications to existing content) to the version currently deployed in the customer project. This helps ensure the project remains aligned with the latest MLP enhancements.
Use the Preview Import function in AVEVA Unified Engineering to:
-
Review the contents of a conceptual model file before importing it.
-
Identify new, modified, and missing classes.
-
Review and resolve import conflicts.
-
Accept or reject individual proposed changes.
Preview Import supports two import modes, Merge and Replace. Administrators can select the most appropriate approach before applying updates.
Refer to Preview Import File in the AVEVA Engineering documentation for more information.
Important: An experienced administrator who understands both the existing class model and the existing project-specific modifications should perform this operation. This helps prevent data loss and avoids overwriting changes currently in use by the project.
The administrator must maintain a proper change log of all updates made to the existing model. Use the change log to review the Preview Import results and to determine whether to accept or reject updates from the newer version of the class model.
Before performing any class model delta update, we highly recommend that you back up the project.
Prerequisites
Perform the minimum update requirements. See Adopt class library changes for more information.
