Create an actuating function in PI&D

A process user (ENG.PROC) performs this procedure.

Create an actuating function

1. Drag the Control Valve (Assembly) symbol from the Control Valves palette.

   

2. Drop the symbol onto a pipeline in the canvas.

   Ensure the valve body portion is placed on the pipeline to trigger the split and heal behavior.

   

   The parts appear in the Control Valve Function grid and the application sets the appropriate reference associations. Related pipeline properties are shown in Pipeline Properties.

   

   Note: Designers should create different symbol assembly configurations to represent typical control valve configurations based on user and design requirements.
