Add a PI Connector Relay

You can add one or more relays in PI Data Collection Manager.

Note: While there is no limit to the number of relays you can add, be aware that routing a connector to too many relays could exhaust the connector's resources.

Before you start:

  • The relay (PI Connector Relay) that you want to add in PI Data Collection Manager must be installed and running.

  • You must know the user name and password for an account in the local PI Connector Administrators group on the relay host.

  1. In the Routing pane, select Plus icon at the top of the Relays column.

  2. Under Relay Settings, enter the following:

    • Name

A unique name that will identify the relay in the Routing area of PI Data Collection Manager.

    • Address

The IP address or host name of the relay host.

Note: When the relay and connectors are on different networks, use the IP address or the fully qualified hostname of the relay host.

    • Port

The administration web service port number for the relay.

    • Username

The domain and user name in the format Domain\User_name. This user account must be a member of the PI Connector Administrators group on the relay host.

    • Password

The password for the user account.

  3. Select Save Settings.
