Firewall configuration

Typically, PI Data Collection Manager, PI Connector Relay, and PI Servers are not installed on the same host. Since PI Data Collection Manager and PI Connector Relay communicate with the PI Servers using TCP sockets, all network firewalls between the PI Data Collection Manager and PI Connector Relay hosts and the PI Server hosts must permit the following connections. If there are multiple firewalls—including Windows firewall on any host where one of these products is installed—all firewalls in the connection path must be appropriately configured. Configure all firewalls in the network route from the PI Data Collection Manager and PI Connector Relay hosts to PI Servers to allow connection to:

• TCP port 5450 on Data Archive hosts

• TCP port 5457 on PI AF hosts
