Create a Data Archive identity for Data Collection Manager

To give PI Data Collection Manager permission to read data from Data Archive, create and map an identity for the PI Data Collection Manager Windows account.

1. Start PI System Management Tools.

2. Select Security > Identities, Users, & Groups, and then select the PI Identities tab.

3. Right-click within the pane, and then select New Identity.

4. In the New Identity window, specify the identity settings:

   1. Enter a name for the PI Data Collection Manager identity.

   2. Optional: Enter a description.

   3. Select Identity cannot be deleted.

   4. Select Identity cannot be used in a Trust.

5. Select Create.

6. Double-click the identity you just created.

7. In the identity Properties window, select the Mappings & Trusts tab.

8. Under Mapping, select Add.

9. In the Add New Mapping window, add the PI Data Collection Manager account to the Windows Account field, and then select Create.

10. In the identity Properties dialog box, select OK.
