Learn about pre-installation tasks

Before installing the software, complete the following tasks.

1. Verify that the hosts for PI Data Collection Manager and PI Connector Relay meet the system requirements. See System requirements.

2. Determine the port numbers you will use for the PI Data Collection Manager and PI Connector Relay web services. See Identify port numbers.

3. Configure security for PI Data Collection Manager, PI Connector Relay, and your network. See Learn about security.

4. Identify the administration group users. See Learn how to identify administration group users.

   Note: If you are upgrading from PI Data Collection Manager version 2.5.19, AVEVA strongly recommends to first upgrade PI Data Collection Manager before you upgrade PI Connector Relay.
