PI Connector Administration

Learn how to identify administration group users

To configure and administer PI Data Collection Manager and PI Connector Relay, users must belong to the local Windows PI Connector Administrators group on each computer where these programs are installed. If the default virtual service account is used, it is automatically added to this group and no further action is need.

Alternatively, identify all local or domain users that require PI Data Collection Manager or PI Connector Relay administrative privileges.

During installation, you are prompted to add these users. After installation, you can use Windows Administration tools to add or remove users from the PI Connector Administrators group at any time.

Note: When selecting users for the PI Connector Administrators group, be aware that users in this group can locally or remotely stop and start connectors and modify configurations.
