Create interface instances

Interface instances can be created from the interface executable (.exe) file or from a copy of a batch (.bat) file configured for the interface. Interfaces come with sample .bat files, but these files will not have the necessary configurations, and should not be used for standard installations.

1. Navigate to the interface .exe file and run the installation.

   The interface instance is now available in PI ICU.

2. Configure the interface instance using PI ICU.

   Refer to this document for more information about configuring UniInt interfaces.

Once the startup parameters are configured, create additional interface instances using the New Windows Interface Instance from BAT File menu option in PI ICU. Make the appropriate changes to the interface ID parameter and other interface instance-specific startup parameters.
