PI Universal Interface (UniInt) is an OSIsoft framework for interfaces to Data Archive. UniInt provides generic functions required by most interfaces, such as establishing a connection to a Data Archive node and monitoring changes to PI points. The UniInt framework ensures a standard set of features for OSIsoft interfaces.

PI Universal Interface (UniInt) User Guide explains the operation and functionality provided by the UniInt framework. Each interface includes a user guide that describes its specific features, configuration, function and usage.

PI Server naming conventions

OSIsoft is revising its terminology to reflect the growth of the PI System from its original single-server architecture. In the revised terminology, Data Archive is the component that stores time-series data (formerly called PI Server). PI Server is the entire suite of PI System server products, and includes both Data Archive and PI Asset Framework. This document uses the revised terminology.
