Manually update the snapshot

You can test trigger point configurations by manually updating a point value to trigger an update either to the data source or Data Archive using PI System Management Tools (PI SMT).

Locate the output point in the archive editor.

Enter a time stamp value of * (now).
The point value does not need to change to trigger the update. The time stamp must be more recent than the last time stamp value in Data Archive.

Click the save icon to update the snapshot to the output point.
Triggered input points will update the archive value. Output points will write to the interface to update the data source. You can use a visualization tool to see the updated point value, or verify the update on the data source.
