Process large point updates

Point updates are processed in batches. Large point updates can be processes more quickly by stopping and restarting the interface, either for updating point attributes that change while connected, or for synchronizing the disconnected startup cache files. However, this process causes some data loss.

Note: Avoid running the interface in disconnected startup mode while making major point modifications to Data Archive.

1. Stop the interface.

   You can stop the interface service from PI ICU or Windows.

2. If you are using disconnected startup, move or delete any previously created cache files for the interface.

   This prevents the interface from using the outdated cache files during subsequent restarts.

3. Restart the interface.

   The interface collects all the point updates and processes them in one batch.
