In this section, you will verify the DYNSIM Activation Manager is working.
See the AVEVA Simulation for Triconex Systems – Installation Guide for information about installing DYNSIM, the DYNSIM Activation Manager, and TRISIM. The DYNSIM Activation Manager allows DYNSIM to access DYNSIM or TRISIM engines on local or remote machines. The Activation Manager must be working properly before DYNSIM is started.
DYNSIM SimExec can be installed on the same machine as the TRISIM engine(s) or on a remote machine. Prior to starting DYNSIM with TRISIM, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
-
Select Start / All Programs / SIMSCI / DSSnn / DSS Host Configuration Editor and right-click and chose Run as Administrator. Select Set Interface. Choose the network that includes the simulation engines. Click Set. Click Reset. In the Messages dialog box, verify that the S4MSimStartup and S4MUtilityServer are both registered with the Naming Service. In case of failure, try again, or reboot the computer.

-
Ensure if Show_Windows is set to YES in Config_file.tab of DSS Host Configuration Editor. See AVEVA Simulation for Triconex Systems – Installation Guide for more information.
-
If the DYNSIM SimExec is on a remote machine, refer to the DYNSIM Getting Started Guide to configure the Naming Services.
-
The Activation Manager package must be installed on the TRISIM machine.
-
The DSS Reset on the TRISIM machine must point to the remote DYNSIM SimExec machine, followed by the DSS Reset on the DYNSIM SimExec machine.
